Beckham Couple Share Old New Year Photos Amid Strained Relationship, Eldest Son Reportedly Responds with 'Cold' Lawyer Letter

As 2026 approaches, British football star David Beckham took to social media to share a series of photos, reflecting on “unforgettable moments” and expressing gratitude to his family.

He wrote: “I am so lucky. 2025 was filled with unforgettable moments—from my 50th birthday, to being knighted (it still feels like a dream), to finally winning the MLS championship as an owner. I am incredibly grateful for my amazing wife, my lovely children, my friends, and the team I work with every day. None of this would be possible without you.”

He also included an old photo with his eldest son Brooklyn, which clearly shows it was taken some years ago.
Four years ago, Brooklyn married Nicola Peltz, who comes from a wealthy family, and tensions between the two families have gradually increased. Before Christmas last year, Brooklyn even unfollowed his parents and siblings on social media.

His 51-year-old mother, Victoria, shared a photo of herself surrounded by her four children, writing: “You are my life. I love you all, love your dad, here's to 2026, cheers!” At that time, their youngest daughter Harper was still a baby, sleeping comfortably in her mother’s arms.
Obviously, despite the series of slights and growing tensions, David and Victoria still hope for reconciliation with their eldest son. But, as expected, 26-year-old Brooklyn did not respond at all. While he remained silent, his wife Nicola posted a photo of the two of them cuddled on the sofa looking at their phones, with the caption: “We didn't plan to wear matching outfits.” The public interpreted this as a jab at her in-laws, who are known for coordinating their looks.

Recent reports reveal that not only did Brooklyn not invite his family to witness his vow renewal, but he allegedly also sent legal letters to his parents, clearly stating that all future contact must go through lawyers and forbidding them from mentioning or tagging him on social media.

Sources say David and Victoria have made repeated overtures to meet with their daughter-in-law face to face in hopes of resolving the misunderstandings but never received a response. In contrast, Brooklyn appears extremely sensitive to any interaction from his parents. It's claimed that even Victoria simply liking one of his posts was seen as a violation of the 'no contact' request—leading Brooklyn to outright block his parents and siblings on social media.

Due to the complete lack of social media interaction, outsiders once thought the family just wasn't following each other. The truth became clear only when the Beckham's youngest son, 20-year-old Cruz, spoke out publicly. In a fleeting Instagram story, he stressed that it was impossible for parents to block their own son, stating bluntly: “They were blocked, and so was I.”

Netizens have begun choosing sides. Some support David and Victoria, seeing them as pitiful parents discarded by their son; others stand by Brooklyn and Nicola, believing they simply refuse to be constrained and don't want to play along with Victoria’s public image—hence their “escape.” Many also feel the issue stems from Brooklyn’s personality; he used to be a mama’s boy but now only listens to his wife since getting married, showing little independence.
