Immigration Department Launches Enforcement, Four Foreign Nationals Detained

(Bandar Seri Begawan, 6th) The Brunei Immigration and National Registration Department’s enforcement unit recently carried out two enforcement operations codenamed "Operasi Kakas" to check on the status of foreign nationals at various locations, detaining four foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration laws.

During "Operasi Kakas 21/2026", enforcement officers inspected a rental house in Mukim Gadong B Area where a total of 14 foreign nationals were checked; of these, one person was detained and taken back to the enforcement department for further investigation for allegedly violating Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act (Chapter 17), i.e., remaining in Brunei after the immigration pass had expired.

Another operation, "Operasi Kakas 23/2026", was conducted at a rental house in Mukim Berakas A Area. Officers checked 12 foreign nationals, of whom three were detained for investigation for allegedly overstaying in Brunei after their entry permits had expired, in violation of Section 15(1) of the Immigration Act (Chapter 17).

The Immigration and National Registration Department urges the public to provide information to the enforcement department if they possess any information related to immigration violations.
