Revealing Male Teacher's Sexual Assault on Male Student: Ku Jianyao: Many Knew but Didn't Speak Up

(Kuala Lumpur, 25th) Ku Jianyao, a Malaysian filmmaker who exposed the "ME TOO" incident where a male teacher sexually assaulted a male student at a capital independent school, emphasized that what shocked him the most was not who the predator was, but that many people knew but remained silent.
"Classmates knew, teachers knew, some parents knew, but they all chose silence.
Perhaps it's not because they are cold-hearted, but because not everyone has enough courage."
He posted on Facebook again on Saturday, stating that recently, Malaysian Chinese independent schools have been embroiled in the "#MeToo" scandal, leading many to ask, "What's wrong with independent schools?"
"But what I want to say is—the real question should not be 'What's wrong with independent schools', but 'Why is no one daring to speak up elsewhere?' Taiwan's #MeToo happened because it is a democratic society, a place willing to talk about sex and trauma."
He emphasized that such an atmosphere is unimaginable in Malaysia's Muslim circles, or even in China. Are there no predators in Malaysian national schools, religious schools, or other social corners?
"There are, but the victims there are never seen nor allowed to be revealed. So, this scandal is not about 'Chinese schools being particularly chaotic', but that we are finally starting to speak out."
Ku Jianyao pointed out, some questioned why they didn't report to the police but instead made a post? "What I want to say is: many victims of sexual assault/harassment cannot report immediately because the system and society do not protect them."
"We post not to 'announce to the world', but to hope to connect openly, find more witnesses, and gather more evidence. We have already initiated formal reporting procedures and are on the judicial path."
He noted, others said: "Why didn't you first confront the teacher? Didn't you first listen to his motive?"
"I understand you want to emphasize the importance of 'motive' and 'finding out the truth'. But I want to remind everyone, in cases of sexual harassment and power imbalance, it’s never about the victim understanding the perpetrator's motive, but about returning to the victim's experience, whether they were violated, and whether they can safely voice out these fundamental issues."
"Stop all criticism of victims."
He wrote in the post, as Spider-Man said: "With great power comes great responsibility."; "What I want to say is: 'With greater courage, comes greater responsibility.' Since I dare to speak, I will help speak up."
Ku Jianyao stated that someone privately messaged him, asking him to help MeToo other teachers. "Sorry, I can't do that. This is not an impulsive revelation, but a deeply considered choice."
He emphasized that behind every revelation is a psychological journey prepared to bear all consequences. "My courage is not something that can be 'lent out'."
He pointed out that as a gay man, revealing same-sex sexual assault is actually a thankless task. In a heterosexual mainstream society, this could become new evidence of "chaos in the gay community".
"In the gay community, I might be accused of 'damaging the image', 'betraying the insiders'. But I want to clarify: what I'm talking about is not a problem of the gay community nor a sexual orientation issue. What I'm talking about is the violation under power structures."
He pointed out that when you are young and ignorant and still unclear about boundaries, someone, in the name of "education", "concern", or "habit", justifiably touches you, humiliates you, or even completely changes your life.
