(China, 13th) Chen Jining, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, while leading a delegation to study and inspect in Tibet, said that cadres aiding Tibet should strive to build projects that unite people's hearts and foster national unity, so that people of all ethnic groups can better feel the care and concern of the Party Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core for the people in border areas.
According to reports from The Paper and Yicai, from July 11th to 12th, the delegation led by Chen Jining, accompanied by Wang Junzheng, Secretary of the CPC Tibet Autonomous Region Committee, visited Dingri County, Sagya County, and Lazi County in Shigatse City, Tibet, to inspect the progress of post-earthquake recovery and reconstruction work and to learn about the implementation and promotion of the paired assistance projects.
On January 7th this year, a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck Dingri, Tibet, causing numerous houses to collapse or be damaged. The group visited Sengga Village in Changsu Township, Dingri County, one of the villages hardest hit by the earthquake, to visit and comfort affected residents and to inspect the reconstruction project.
Chen Jining said that after the earthquake, Xi Jinping gave important instructions, and under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee, Shanghai responded swiftly and dedicatedly provided assistance. Cadres and personnel aiding Tibet, together with local cadres and residents, did their utmost in earthquake relief.
Chen Jining urged the cadres assisting Tibet to coordinate both recovery/reconstruction and long-term development, and to strive to build projects that unite people's hearts, foster national unity, and promote high-quality development, so that people of all ethnic groups feel more deeply the care and concern of the Party Central Committee with Xi Jinping at its core for the people of the border areas, more deeply experience the superiority of the socialist system and the warmth of the big family of the Chinese nation, and become more consciously united in forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
According to reports, leaders from Shanghai and Tibet also visited and offered their regards to representatives of Shanghai's cadres aiding Tibet. Chen Jining said that the aid-to-Tibet work is like a relay, with each group passing the baton to the next, and called on them to fulfill their final duties well, lay a solid foundation for subsequent work, and coordinate effectively with the new batch of cadres aiding Tibet to ensure an orderly and uninterrupted transition.
