Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, who is visiting Egypt, announced on the 9th in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, that Iran has reached an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency to resume bilateral cooperation on the Iranian nuclear issue.
On the same day, he held a joint press conference in Cairo with Egyptian Foreign Minister Abdel-Ati and IAEA Director General Grossi.
At the press conference, Araghchi said that Iran and the IAEA have agreed to strengthen cooperation on the premise of respecting Iran's sovereignty and safeguarding the security of the Iranian people, and stressed that Iran will not compromise again on its nuclear policy or nuclear rights.
Abdel-Ati said that Egypt is working to bring the positions of European countries and Iran closer.
He pointed out that Iran is willing to return to negotiations regarding its nuclear program but insists that issues must be resolved through diplomatic means rather than relying on the arrogance of power.
Grossi posted on social media that the International Atomic Energy Agency has reached an agreement with Iran on the specific methods for resuming inspection activities.
He released a photo of the signing of the document with Araghchi in Cairo, stating, “This is an important step in the right direction.”
After suffering air strikes by Israel and the United States in June, Iran suspended its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the agency's investigators left Iran in early July. On August 11, senior IAEA officials visited Iran for the first time since the cooperation was interrupted.
