(Bandar Seri Begawan, 18th) In order to strengthen the promotion and protection of the use of the Malay language, the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) recently held the "DBP Dudun" event at Sultan Haji Foundation Primary School, attracting over 1,500 enthusiastic participants from primary schools and kindergartens.
This outreach event was conducted in an educational yet fun manner, providing students with a rich learning experience through a series of interactive sessions. Among them, three local children's storybook and comic writers—Rosmuliani and Lezuan—brought captivating storytelling activities to kindergarten students, which were very well received.
Acting Chief Executive of the Language and Literature Bureau, Abdullah, was invited as the guest of honor to host the event. In his speech, he stated that "DBP Dudun" is one of the important initiatives supported by the Sultan Haji Foundation to promote the Malay language. It aims to build a positive attitude in society, empower language use, and protect the cultural roots of the national language.
He further encouraged all teachers to continue playing active roles in strengthening the use of the Malay language in classroom teaching; he also urged students to seize every learning opportunity and actively participate in events with confidence and enthusiasm to continually grow in knowledge, especially in fields related to the Malay language.
After the ceremony, students from Sultan Haji Foundation Primary School performed the Malay traditional dance "Dendang Tari Melayu Asli - Kayum Oh Kayum" accompanied by the Gulintangan traditional musical instruments, adding a rich cultural touch to the event.
The school's principal, Hafizah, and several school officials also attended the event.
