(City, 18th) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei received 26 non-resident diplomatic envoys at the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday afternoon and accepted the credentials they presented.
The envoys who were received and presented their letters of appointment to His Majesty are from various countries and international organizations, including: Eritrean Ambassador Alem Tsehaye, Irish Ambassador Sarah, Zimbabwean Ambassador Constance, Belgian Ambassador Peter, Ugandan High Commissioner Betty, Chadian Ambassador Hassan Saleh, Italian Ambassador Dante Brandi, Sudanese Ambassador Hassan Abdel Salam, Slovak Ambassador Tomas Ferko, Chilean Ambassador Jaime Darragalan Sandoval, Zambian High Commissioner Mukoomum Bunba, EU Ambassador Denis Chaibi, UAE Ambassador Saeed, Swedish Ambassador Anders, Portuguese Ambassador Mascarenhas, Malian Ambassador Felix Diallo, Danish Ambassador Jacob, Bosnian and Herzegovinian Ambassador Edin, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mudiyansela, Finnish Ambassador Anne Vasala, Venezuelan Ambassador Radames, Kenyan High Commissioner Ekithera Ronald, Rwandan High Commissioner Diusa, New Zealand High Commissioner Michael Wehi, Costa Rican Ambassador Victor Hugo, and Guinean Ambassador Kumba Diop.
After the grand ceremony, His Majesty met each envoy individually, engaged in cordial conversations, welcomed them to their new positions, and expressed hope that they would play an active role in promoting bilateral relations between their countries and Brunei.
Accompanying the ceremony were senior government officials. The solemn ceremony was held at the Brunei Palace—Istana Nurul Iman, highlighting the Brunei royal family's great emphasis on international diplomatic protocol and active expansion of foreign relations.
