(Kuching, 21st) Deputy Minister of Sarawak Utilities, Datuk Ibrahim Baki, stated that the state government has approved an allocation of nearly RM1.3 million to upgrade the facilities in Kampungs 3, 4, 5, and 6 in the Sadong constituency.
As the assemblyman for the Sadong constituency, Baki stated that multiple projects will be implemented to further develop the constituency and meet the needs of the community.
“This is a gift from Sarawak's government revenue to us (Sadong). These funds will be returned to the people in the form of projects.”
He mentioned this while speaking at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu's second zone Hari Raya gathering held in his constituency last night.
He mentioned that upgrading the school hall in Kampung 4 is one of the upcoming projects to be implemented.
He added that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof recently inspected the hall and promised to assist in its upgrading work.
“Today, I am approving an allocation of RM340,000 to kick-start the repair works for the hall’s ceiling and roof.”
For Kampung 3, he announced an allocation of RM360,000 for upgrading the village's drainage system.
He also revealed that Kampung 5 has been approved for three projects: constructing a ramp for Sungai Lajim (costing RM100,000), building a pathway (costing RM80,000), and upgrading the village's drainage system (costing RM50,000).
Additionally, he mentioned that RM150,000 has been allocated for upgrading Kampung 6's drainage system, and another RM120,000 will be used for road resurfacing works.
“This funding is for development and beautification. Aside from these projects, I will discuss further plans with the local village heads.”
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Baki also praised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar for his role in promoting the development of Sarawak.
“When Prime Minister Anwar visited last Saturday, he praised the leadership of the Premier and Sarawak as we have exceeded his (Anwar’s) expectations.”
“We do not wait for federal government allocations to implement projects because we have our own funds. We can do this because of our growing revenue and Sarawak's unique management approach under the Premier’s leadership.”
