(Kuching, 11th) HMI International Medical Group (HMI Medical) plans to invest RM50 million over the next five years to develop a future-ready medical workforce in Malaysia.
The group’s Chief Executive Officer Chin Wei Jia stated that this investment will be allocated through the "HMI Malaysia Medical Workforce 2030 Fund."
She said the fund will be used to support scholarships, education sponsorships, clinical internships, and professional development opportunities, covering HMI Malaysia’s hospitals located in Kuching, Johor, and Melaka.
"These talent development initiatives will also benefit medical professionals across various disciplines, including medicine, nursing, allied health, healthcare management, and emergency life support."

Chin Wei Jia made these remarks on Monday (August 10) at the groundbreaking ceremony of HMI Medical’s Regency Specialist Hospital Kuching, located at North Bank here.
She stated that as patient needs become increasingly complex and medical technology continues to advance, healthcare providers need to look beyond current demands.
This includes expanding access to quality medical services, bringing advanced medical capabilities closer to communities, and nurturing professionals who can provide such care.
Chin Wei Jia said HMI Medical believes that investment in talent is equally as important as investment in advanced medical infrastructure and technology.
