(Kuching, 11th) Due to transboundary haze, the number of areas in Sarawak recording unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) levels increased to 11 this morning, up from 9 areas yesterday.
According to data from the Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS), these 11 areas are: Serian (189), Samarahan (170), Kuching (166), Bintulu (159), Samalaju (156), Mukah (154), Sibu (154), Sarikei (153), Sri Aman (152), Miri (137), and Miri Industrial Training Institute (ILP) (116).
An Air Pollution Index of 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and over 300 is hazardous.
There are a total of 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide, with API data updated hourly.
