Cecilia Cheung, who entered the industry at 18, had a marriage with Nicholas Tse, and later, her career was severely impacted by the photo scandal with Edison Chen. Years later, in an interview, when discussing those past events, she summed it up in five words: "I trusted the wrong person." Cecilia Cheung (left) admitted that she initially placed her trust in Edison Chen.

In 2008, Cecilia Cheung's career suffered a huge blow due to the leak of private photos with Edison Chen, causing her public image to plummet overnight. She confessed that she had just ended her relationship with Nicholas Tse and was emotionally low. Under Edison Chen's care, she gradually opened her heart and believed in the relationship when he suggested taking intimate photos, trusting that the photos would not be leaked.

This choice turned out to be the biggest setback in Cecilia Cheung's life. After the scandal, she found herself with no acting opportunities, single-handedly raising her children and fulfilling her maternal responsibilities. Fortunately, as Edison Chen bore the primary responsibility for the incident, she was not entirely blacklisted. It was not until 2015 that Cecilia Cheung restarted her career, participating in various major programs, marking a new opportunity to showcase her talents.

When mentioning this past, Cecilia Cheung spoke calmly, saying, "The pain was extreme. How should I put it? No matter how strong a person is, everyone finds it hard to get past certain points." She summed up the scandal with the phrase "I trusted the wrong person." Later, she successfully made a comeback through "Sisters Who Make Waves," proving with resilience that she could stand firm after the storm.
