(Singapore, 28th) – The man who rode a personal mobility device (PMD) on Joo Chiat Road last month, striking a 'Superman' pose, has been apprehended. Inspection by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) found that his PMD could reach a maximum speed of over 100 km/h, which is four times the legal speed limit.

According to regulations, the maximum speed for PMDs cannot exceed 25 km/h, and they are not allowed on public roads.

Last month, a man was filmed riding his PMD at high speed in the Joo Chiat area, while striking a 'Superman' pose. His dangerous actions drew criticism from netizens.

LTA posted on Facebook on Saturday (27th) stating that the rider in the video has been caught, and his PMD has been confiscated. Investigations are ongoing.

LTA told 8world News that the rider was apprehended within two weeks after the video was uploaded.

At the same time, the LTA and police jointly conducted a nine-day enforcement operation this month, cracking down on 250 violations and impounding 111 illegal active mobility devices.

The authorities will further strengthen enforcement, planning to install more surveillance cameras in the next five years to detect speeding electric mobility devices.
