Amid the ongoing escalation of the US-China trade dispute, Chinese tech giant Tencent introduced a plan on the 17th to help foreign trade enterprises expand into the domestic market, projecting to increase sales by 100 billion RMB (603.56 billion Malaysian Ringgit) for enterprises.

On Thursday, Tencent announced on its official WeChat public account the launch of the "Foreign Trade Run-Up Plan," which includes 10 measures such as green channel for store opening, new business incentives, traffic support, and tariff discounts. This is aimed at helping foreign trade enterprises establish domestic businesses and expand into the Southeast Asian market, intending to boost sales by 100 billion RMB for these enterprises.

The statement noted that Tencent's global business cross-border payment solutions platform, TenpayGlobal, will collaborate with Southeast Asian e-commerce platforms to launch the "Set Sail Plan," providing full-chain support for small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises to expand into the Southeast Asian market, helping to bring Chinese goods to Southeast Asian markets. Through the "Ten Free" policy to benefit enterprises, such as store opening without waiting, free training, exemption from store commission, free warehousing, and free remittance fees, it aims to help export enterprises overcome difficulties.

Additionally, Tencent will offer a package of incentives for newly settled foreign trade merchants to support their continuous growth. This includes a waiver of technical service fees for self-operated transactions within a single store that do not exceed 1 million RMB (603,600 Malaysian Ringgit); a maximum flow incentive of 15,000 RMB (9,053 Malaysian Ringgit) for live stream sales per merchant; and the platform will subsidize shipping insurance for users, reducing the return shipping cost for merchants.

Previously, on the 16th, the Douyin Group initiated a special support plan for foreign trade quality products, integrating resources from e-commerce, life services, and other businesses. Through measures such as opening a green channel for entry, special traffic support, commission reduction, and interest-free loans to aid turnover, it aims to help foreign trade merchants reduce operating costs and expand the domestic market.
