On Sunday (20th), the Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) conducted their division elections, where Sabah's Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Seri Christina Liew, was defeated in the Kota Kinabalu division election by Lili Mi, who was previously replaced from her position as the social development leader of Kota Kinabalu.
Christina Liew, also the state assemblywoman for Kota Kinabalu, received 1157 votes, losing to Lili Mi who garnered 1381 votes, with the majority being 224 votes.
Christina Liew was the only ministerial and state assemblywoman candidate from Sabah PKR to lose.
Mustapha Sakmud Re-elected
Meanwhile, Sabah PKR Chairman and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud (Sepanggar MP), was successfully re-elected as the division chairman for Kota Belud with 1405 votes, while his opponent, Modili, received only 100 votes, with the majority being 1305 votes.
The Deputy Chairman of Sabah PKR and Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, Datuk Petugas Galing (Petagas State Assemblyman), managed to retain his position as the division chairman for Sepanggar with 607 votes, against his opponent Joseph Lingam who received 178 votes, with the majority being 429 votes.
