(Miri, 23rd) The North Sarawak Journalists' Association will hold a Golden Jubilee celebration dinner with the theme 'Towards Press Freedom and Professionalism' at 6:30 PM this Friday, 25th of this month, at Mega Hotel. All ticket holders are urged to attend the dinner punctually.
The guest of honor for the evening will be Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, with a total of 62 tables. The dress code for the evening is 'Golden Dazzle'.
Attendees include Sarawak Minister of Transport, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin; Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism, Datuk Sebastian Ting; Deputy Minister of Enterprise, Information and Public Relations in the Sarawak Premier's Office, Datuk Abdullah Saidol; Deputy Minister of Labor, Immigration, and Project Monitoring in Sarawak Premier's Office, Datuk Gerawat Gala; Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang; Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia, Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni; Telang Usan Assemblyman, Datuk Dennis Ngau; and Miri Member of Parliament, Chiew Choon Man, among others.
The President of the North Sarawak Journalists' Association, Chai Choon Jin, and the Organizing Chair and Vice President Grace, call on all supporters who have purchased dinner tickets to attend the event on time and express their gratitude to legislators, associations, societies, organizations, and entrepreneurs for their enthusiastic support.
The North Sarawak Journalists' Association was formally established on March 4th, 1975. To commemorate its 50th anniversary, past presidents will be honored, and long-service awards will be presented to veteran journalists who have served in the industry for over 10 years.
38 journalists from the North Sarawak region will receive long-service awards, with 6 having served for over 10 years, 5 for over 15 years, 9 for over 20 years, 8 for over 25 years, 8 for over 30 years, 1 for over 35 years, and 1 for 40 years.
Additionally, the association will recognize former presidents who served as the Federation President of the Sarawak Journalists' Association during their tenure as President of the North Sarawak Journalists' Association by awarding them the North Sarawak Journalists' Association Leadership Contribution Award.
At the end of the event, a lucky draw will be held for attendees to win prizes.
