On the 3rd, US President Trump told the media at the White House that US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt and Kushner recently held a 'good meeting' with Russian President Putin in Moscow.
He said the US officials' impression is that Putin 'wants to see the war end', but also pointed out, 'I can't tell you what outcomes were achieved from that meeting, because cooperation is a two-way street.'
Putin, Greenblatt, and Kushner held talks at the Kremlin on the evening of the 2nd local time. Kushner is Trump's son-in-law.
After the meeting, Russian Presidential aide Ushakov said the talks were 'very beneficial, constructive, and highly informative', but no compromise solution to the Ukraine issue was reached.
US and Ukrainian Representatives to Meet Again in Florida
According to US media reports on the 3rd, Greenblatt and Kushner will meet again with the Ukrainian delegation's head, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Umerov, on the 4th in Miami, Florida, to brief them on the meeting with Russian President Putin in Moscow on the 2nd.
The New York Post quoted a senior US official as saying that after talks with Putin, US officials invited Umerov to meet in Florida, and Umerov has accepted the invitation. The US side will inform the Ukrainian side of Russia's latest demands and seek progress toward reaching a 'peace agreement.'
Ukrainian President Zelensky posted on social media on the 3rd, stating that after the US delegation returns from Moscow and holds relevant consultations in Washington, the Ukrainian delegation will continue discussions with the US delegation.
He emphasized that only by considering Ukraine's interests can a dignified peace be achieved.
