Minister of Transport and Secretary-General of the Democratic Action Party, Loke Siew Fook, expressed that he felt very honored to gather with everyone at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square to participate in the "Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" grand military parade.
He stated that this was an important moment to consolidate world peace and build a multilateral international order.
"During World War II, our ancestors fought with blood and tears in Nanyang, taking part in resisting militaristic hegemony and aggression in Asia. This arduous history demonstrated the unity among different ethnic groups and their courage to stand up against tyranny."
He emphasized that learning from the past to guide the future—"remembering the war, preserving peace"—is a form of historical education that is especially important today given the increasingly complex and unilateral international and geopolitical situation.
Today (the 3rd), in a Facebook post, he pointed out that Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar emphasized "harmony in diversity" and that "consolidating peace" should be the foundation for coexistence beyond any political ideology. "Multilateralism" aims to make the international order more equitable and to ensure every nation and people can share in progress and prosperity.
Loke Siew Fook said, let us embody the spirit of humanitarianism and together promote the values of peace and multilateralism.

"This is an important moment for us to collectively remember the values of peace, multilateralism and unity—principles that are particularly significant in today's world."
Loke pointed out that although WWII ended 80 years ago, it seems humanity has not sufficiently learned from the blood and tears of war.
"Geopolitics led by hegemonism is stirring, constantly threatening the fragile peace and the multilateral international order."

He stated that Malaysia is willing to play an active and progressive role in ASEAN, the Asia-Pacific region, and on inter-civilizational dialogue platforms around the world. Through dialogue, rather than confrontation, Malaysia will seek cooperation and peaceful coexistence to build a more equal and better future.
Loke Siew Fook believes that on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win results, the Eastern world can contribute wisdom and strength. As long as everyone is willing to negotiate peacefully and resolve geopolitical differences through rational diplomacy, the 21st century can be a great era that says farewell to war—an era of "shared security" for all.
Attendees included Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing; Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Zafrul; Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Seri Mohamad Hasan; and Minister of Home Affairs Dato' Seri Saifuddin Nasution, among others.
