(Seria, 3rd) Continuing the achievements in the Philippines, the public welfare telemedicine platform [See a Doctor] jointly held a cross-border medical cooperation launch ceremony with the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Brunei on February 28, in simultaneous connection with Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital, officially launching Taiwan-Brunei telemedicine services.

Dignitaries in attendance at the Brunei venue included H.E. Shih Jong-Chung, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brunei; Legislator Chung Chia-Pin; Former Deputy Minister Ho Chi-Kung (Host of the “New Southbound Taiwanese Business Medical Care Network Project”); Dr. Lin Ting-Yu, Co-Chairman of the Taiwan Telemedicine Service Alliance; Ms. Yu Hsiu-Hsia, Honorary Supervisor General of the Asian Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce; Senior Director Chu Chia-Yi; and Mr. Wu Chia-Hsin, President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Brunei. At the Chang Bing Show Chwan Memorial Hospital venue, representatives included Ms. Chen Hsiu-Chu, CEO of Show Chwan Healthcare System; Dr. Huang Hsin-Chang, Hospital Director; Dr. Lee Wen-Chin, Deputy Director; Mr. Lai Shang-Yi from Chunghwa Telecom; and Mr. Wu Yuan-Hao, Senior Director from LINE, representing industry, government, and the medical field.

The event opened with welcome remarks by CEO Chen Hsiu-Chu, who said that Show Chwan Healthcare System has long been dedicated to smart healthcare and international medical services, and had already obtained approval from authorities at the end of 2025 to implement telemedicine plans. She hopes that through [See a Doctor]'s public welfare telemedicine touring service in Taiwan and Brunei, overseas Taiwanese citizens can conveniently connect with Taiwan's medical resources.

Minister of Health and Welfare Shih Chung-Liang specially addressed the event via video, pointing out that this public welfare telemedicine [See a Doctor] in Brunei demonstrates the important achievements of the National Health Insurance (NHI) digital transformation. Personal health records, NHI medical information cloud queries, the virtual NHI card, and electronic prescription systems have laid the foundation for telemedicine development. He emphasized that telemedicine breaks geographical barriers, serving as a bridge that allows overseas Taiwanese to instantly connect with the Taiwan healthcare system. In the future, they will promote institutionalization, normalization, and sustainable development to strengthen the cross-border medical support system.

Dr. Tung Min-Che, Chairman and Chief Director of Tung’s Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital, also delivered video remarks, stating that the hospital upholds the spirit of public welfare and took the initiative to undertake the “New Southbound Taiwanese Business Medical Care Network Project,” enabling overseas Taiwanese businesses to obtain immediate, professional, and reliable Taiwan medical services.

Former Deputy Minister Ho Chi-Kung said that the core of the project is to enhance the accessibility of medical care for overseas Taiwanese, integrating medical center and telemedicine technology resources to gradually establish a cross-border medical cooperation model. This time, expanding the platform to Brunei symbolizes the continuous deepening of new southbound medical cooperation. Dr. Lin Ting-Yu stated that [See a Doctor] abides by the spirit of “altruism”, bringing together resources from all walks of life and allowing the cycle of good to expand, providing overseas Taiwanese timely, professional medical support.

Wu Chia-Hsin, President of Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Brunei, pointed out that although the number of Taiwanese in Brunei is small, there is still a steady demand for medical care among long-term residents and workers, and telemedicine helps bridge language and treatment gaps.

The [See a Doctor] public welfare telemedicine platform integrates telemedicine services, emergency medical care, and international medical transfer services. With the participation of Show Chwan Healthcare System and the launch of Brunei telemedicine services, the platform's medical resources are more complete, providing overseas Taiwanese a stable medical backup.
