Chinese actress Xin Zhilei won the Best Actress Award at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival for her performance in the film "Sun Hangs High in the Sky."
According to Xinhua News Agency, the main awards of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival were announced on Saturday (August 6).
"Sun Hangs High in the Sky" was directed by Cai Shangjun and stars Xin Zhilei alongside Zhang Songwen and Feng Shaofeng. The film tells the story of a pair of former lovers who reunite in a southern small city after years apart, only to be swept up by fate and ultimately meet a tragic end. The film was shot in multiple cities across Guangdong Province, showcasing the unique characteristics of Lingnan culture.
The Venice International Film Festival in Italy was founded in 1932 and, together with the Cannes International Film Festival in France and the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany, is known as one of Europe's three major international film festivals.
