KUCHING: Two cutting-edge inventions, namely Dr Tracker’ and ‘Dr Ghaz Sensor’, have propelled the Sarawak Brigade of the General Operations Force (GOF) to a historic double victory at the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) Innovation Persada Ceremony 2025.
The event, held at Klana Resort in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, saw the Sarawak Brigade’s artificial intelligence team crowned champion in the New Horizon Innovative and Creative Creation category for Dr Tracker, a personnel tracking device designed for search and rescue (SAR) missions in areas without internet coverage.
The device aims to boost operational efficiency in the field while showcasing the team’s ability to develop practical, mission-ready technology.
Their second invention, Dr Ghaz Sensor — a detection device capable of identifying illegal immigrant (PATI) entries and smuggling activities along Malaysia’s borders — earned them the first runner-up position for the Innovation Award.
The occasion marked a first-ever double podium finish for the Sarawak GOF in both major categories of the RMP Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) programme — a milestone achievement in the brigade’s innovation history.
Meanwhile, the prize-giving ceremony was officiated by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who presented certificates and trophies to the winners.
The Internal Security and Public Order Department said the victory reflects the team spirit and strong commitment of Sarawak GOF personnel in advancing RMP’s innovation agenda.
With these latest accomplishments, Sarawak GOF continues to strengthen its role not only in operations but also as a pioneer in innovation within the police force.
Also present was Sarawak Brigade commander SAC Dr Che Ghazali Che Awang, who is the main patron of the innovation team.
