(Seria, 18th) Seven high school students from Seria Chung Hwa Middle School participated in the “2026 Beijing FutureTech Exploration Camp” during the recent school holidays, embarking on a week-long study tour in Beijing, China. Through technological practices and cultural experiences, they broadened their horizons and gained valuable insights.

The students stayed at the international student dormitory of Beijing Institute of Technology, experiencing an immersive university life. The event, themed “Learning through Walking, Growing through Experience,” centered on courses involving chip technology, intelligent control, and the Internet of Things (IoT), enabling students to access cutting-edge technology through hands-on practice.

During the trip, students toured the Summer Palace and Wangfujing, experiencing Beijing’s historical culture and modern cityscape. They also visited the Liangxiang Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology, participated in the opening ceremony and campus tour, and learned about the development of China’s top universities. In the following days, students took part in tech courses such as distance measuring radar, pulse signal monitoring, and IoT system construction. Through coding and device operation, they transformed theory into practical applications.

Several students said in interviews that the courses were novel and challenging, not only improving their practical skills but also sparking their interest in tech learning. By visiting tech companies and exploring artificial intelligence applications, they gained a clearer understanding of technology’s impact on real life, and began to consider their future career directions.

Additionally, students visited BIT’s laboratories and university history museum, as well as tech companies in Zhongguancun, learning about the development of China’s tech industry. On the cultural front, the students climbed the Great Wall (Juyongguan section), personally experiencing the magnificence and historical depth of this world cultural heritage.

In addition to the intensive academic and visit schedule, living together in dormitories encouraged students to learn independence and mutual support, nurture self-care abilities and teamwork, and in unexpected situations, they proactively helped each other, demonstrating strong responsibility and service awareness, earning praise from their teachers.

On the final day, students attended the closing ceremony and gave group presentations, summarizing their learning gains and bringing the journey to a close.

Dr. Zhang Guijuan, principal of Yizhong, stated that this exploration camp provided a valuable learning platform for students, allowing them to engage with technology in real settings, broaden their perspectives, and develop independent thinking and problem-solving abilities. She indicated that the school will continue to promote similar international study camp activities and arrange for students to share their experiences upon return with teachers and fellow students.

This “Beijing FutureTech Exploration Camp” not only gave students direct contact with cutting-edge technology, but also fostered holistic growth through exchanges and experiences, laying a solid foundation for their future development.
