(Tutong, 1st) A total of 51 families affected by the floods recently received financial assistance from the Government of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, distributed through the Community Development Department under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, to alleviate the burden after the disaster and safeguard the well-being of the families.
The donation ceremony was held at the Tutong District Office residence, with beneficiaries including 46 families from Tutong District and 5 families from Belait District, all residents of the recently affected flood disaster areas. All those affected were reported to be safe, with no casualties.
The ceremony was presided over by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajah Nor Ashikin, who conveyed the government’s sympathy and care for the disaster victims on behalf of the government. She stated that this assistance is an important manifestation of the government's ongoing concern for people's well-being, and emphasized the need for solidarity, especially in times of disaster.
This round of aid distribution aims to help disaster victims resume daily life, demonstrating the Sultan government’s empathy and sense of responsibility towards the people.
