Of the 893 Singaporeans in Hat Yai, Thailand, affected by the floods who have electronically registered with or contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of the 28th, 608 have successfully evacuated, arriving at Hat Yai International Airport or have already set out to return to Singapore. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating assistance and evacuation efforts.
Lianhe Zaobao, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a Facebook post that the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok is coordinating assistance efforts locally and maintaining close contact with Thai authorities.
Since the 27th, the embassy has found and transported 34 Singaporeans from flood-affected areas to Hat Yai International Airport. The embassy will continue to deploy vehicles to support the ongoing evacuation efforts.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Singaporeans in affected areas to closely monitor the latest updates released through official MFA channels and to contact the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok for emergency assistance if needed.
