(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) — The Board of Directors of Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS), Brunei will reach the end of its term at the end of this year. In accordance with the constitution, the '2026-2028 New Board of Directors Election Committee' was established at the third regular board meeting this year to oversee, plan, and formulate election procedures. The board has appointed Lim Han Chiang as the chair, and Lim Tien Chye, Lim Tien Guan, Law Wan Yee, and Lau Chang Chien as committee members.
According to the school’s constitution, the new board election will use an on-site voting system. Sponsors must pick up their ballots and complete voting in person with their identification card; proxy voting is not allowed.
At the same time, as stated in Chapter 2, Article 4, Item 3 of the constitution: 'For sponsors registered under company or association names, a representative’s name must be submitted to the school authorities. However, representatives for company-named sponsors must be shareholders, senior staff, or close relatives.'
To avoid affecting sponsors’ rights in the election and on-site voting, CHMS seeks to organize and update sponsor information. The school will distribute sponsor information survey forms starting July 25. To avoid any omission or postal error, if any sponsor does not receive the survey form, please contact CHMS. The school will reissue the form to relevant sponsors.
All sponsors are kindly requested to complete and submit the survey form by August 19, 2025, via fax (2220097), email (eenie@chms.edu.bn), mobile messaging app WhatsApp (+6737108568), or directly to the CHMS Principal’s Office, to assist the school with updating and refining sponsor information.
If a sponsor does not submit a representative’s details, or fails to provide the English name and identification card number before the stipulated deadline, it shall be deemed as voluntarily forfeiting their right to on-site voting for the upcoming board of directors election.
