Li Yapeng Owes Millions in Debt, Personally Admits His Hospital May Become History

Faye Wong's ex-husband Li Yapeng has recently been rumored to be in financial trouble, embroiled in a huge debt crisis, and has even been subject to a court-ordered enforcement for 40 million yuan (about 23.23 million MYR). To repay his debts, he turned to live streaming to sell tea. Recently, the “Yanran Angel Children's Hospital,” which Li Yapeng and Faye Wong jointly established in 2012 for their daughter Li Yan, has also been reported to owe back rent.

Because their daughter Li Yan was born with a cleft lip and palate, Faye Wong and Li Yapeng set up the Yanran Angel Foundation, and in 2012 founded the Yanran Angel Children's Hospital. However, after the two divorced, the subsequent hospital operations have all been announced by Li Yapeng. Last year there were reports that the hospital, affected by Li Yapeng, was over 10 million yuan in debt (over a million MYR). Recently, news again surfaced that the hospital has long-term unpaid rent, sparking heated discussion among netizens.

Recently, the hospital issued a statement saying that after the lease expired in 2020, the landlord doubled the rent and pressured Li Yapeng to sign a personal unlimited joint guarantee by threatening not to renew the lease. To avoid losses from relocating, Li was forced to accept the new rent. However, in the following three years, due to special circumstances, the hospital faced operational difficulties and could only pay the original rent, unable to afford the rent increase. Li Yapeng subsequently reposted the statement, writing: “Yanran Angel Children's Hospital may become history, but we will hold the line to the very end.”
