An 18-year-old youth in Singapore impersonated a woman to lure a male secondary school classmate into performing indecent acts on camera—such as soaking his genitals in chili water, drinking urine, and playing football naked—then used the videos to blackmail the victim for a total of 2,450 Singapore dollars (7,973 ringgit).

According to Lianhe Zaobao, the defendant faces a total of four charges, including deception and extortion. On the 23rd, he admitted to two of the charges, with the remaining charges to be considered by the judge at sentencing. The judge instructed the prosecution to prepare a report to assess whether the defendant is suitable for admission to a reformative training center for youths. The case has been adjourned to January 12, 2026, for sentencing.

To protect the victim, the judge has ordered the media not to report any information that could reveal the victim’s identity, including the defendant’s name.

According to the case details, the defendant and the victim were once schoolmates in secondary school. In February 2023, the defendant contacted the victim through social media. He used a female-profiled avatar and engaged the victim in sex-related conversations, misleading the victim into believing they were in a romantic relationship.

During video calls, the defendant instructed the victim to perform several humiliating acts, including soaking his genitals in chili oil, drinking urine, masturbating, playing football naked, and cutting and then burning his own hair. The defendant also instructed the victim to repeatedly eat butter and cheese, even when the victim could no longer swallow. During this period, the victim also sent the defendant gift cards and cash worth a total of 390 Singapore dollars (1,269 ringgit).

The victim stated that he complied because he believed the two were in a relationship and thought these acts would please the other person.

In July of the same year, the defendant threatened to release the victim’s masturbation videos online unless he paid up. Fearing reputational harm, the victim followed the defendant’s instructions and hid 100 Singapore dollars (325 ringgit) in a book at a bookstore in a shopping mall. The defendant and an accomplice later retrieved the cash and shared 20 Singapore dollars (65 ringgit) with the accomplice.

The defendant extorted the victim a total of five times, obtaining a sum of 2,450 Singapore dollars. In June 2024, the victim reported to the police, who arrested the defendant after investigation.
