Anutin’s New Cabinet to be Announced: How Much Do the PM and Ministers Earn?

On the 12th, Thailand’s 32nd Prime Minister and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Anutin, attended an event and stated that the list of the new cabinet has been fully finalized and will soon be officially announced. Once the royal command is issued, the new government will have complete executive power and can convene the first cabinet meeting to fully launch its administration work.

According to Thai Headlines News Agency, the term of this government is expected to last only about 4 months, after which the process of dissolving parliament will begin. Despite the short term, the cabinet lineup is highly anticipated, including several leaders from top private enterprises taking up minister positions, such as former PTT (Petroleum Authority of Thailand) CEO Atapong.

Besides the final cabinet list, the public is also keenly interested in the salaries and allowances of the Prime Minister, ministers, and government spokesman. The following is related information (in Thai Baht):

Prime Minister: Monthly salary 75,590, allowance 50,000, total 125,590 (about 16,600 Ringgit).

Deputy Prime Minister: Monthly salary 74,420, allowance 45,500, total 119,920 (about 15,800 Ringgit).

Minister: Monthly salary 73,240, allowance 42,500, total 115,740 (about 15,300 Ringgit).

Deputy Minister: Monthly salary 72,060, allowance 41,500, total 113,560 (about 15,000 Ringgit).

Prime Minister’s Office Spokesman: Monthly salary 47,250, allowance 10,000, total 57,250 (about 7,590 Ringgit).
