Mandarin drama fans in Malaysia are about to welcome another star-studded offline fan event. The latest stop of the "iQIYI Starship Project 2026" will be held on September 13 (Sunday), at 1:30 pm at Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur, with special guest appearance by iQIYI International’s global ambassador Cheng Lei.
As one of the most rapidly rising Mandarin drama actors in recent years, Cheng Lei has been invited by iQIYI to visit Malaysia for the first time, giving local audiences the chance to meet in person the actor who has won over countless fans with his roles in many popular Mandarin dramas.
In recent years, Cheng Lei has been consistently gaining immense popularity through his solid acting skills and a series of high-quality works. His leading role in "What Decorum" became one of the world’s most popular Mandarin dramas in the first quarter of 2026, quickly topping the iQIYI global Mandarin drama charts after its release. The show’s fresh mix of time travel, intrigue, and romance, along with Cheng Lei’s nuanced portrayal of Xiahou Dan (Zhang San), continued to captivate audiences. Prior to this, Cheng Lei had already built a strong fan base with works such as “Jin Yue Ru Ge” and “The Last Immortal,” and in last year’s "With Jin Chang'an" he played three roles in one drama, garnering widespread acclaim for his delicate performances.
