(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Nazmi, stated that the flag handover ceremony symbolizes the national pride and trust placed in the Bruneian delegation.
“Every member has a responsibility to uphold dignity, respect, and safety in sports.”
He said that safety in sports, especially in Paralympic sports, emphasizes the physical and mental health of athletes, and requires them to adhere to high standards of conduct to create a safe, ethical, and high-level sporting environment.
Dato Nazmi made these remarks during the flag handover ceremony for the Bruneian delegation to the 13th ASEAN Para Games 2025, held yesterday.
This flag handover ceremony was held at the Simple Hall on the first floor of the National Sports Complex.

“Looking back at the brilliant achievements in the 12th ASEAN Para Games held in Phnom Penh, we won three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals in para-athletics, creating a historic success. This achievement will surely serve as motivation and a benchmark for every selected athlete.”
However, the Minister emphasized that while striving for success, discipline and integrity are always of utmost importance.
He said, pay attention to your behavior, abide by all rules, and most importantly, stay away from any prohibited substances (anti-doping).”
He believes that focus, health, and an indomitable fighting spirit are key to bringing glory to the nation on this regional stage.

The Brunei National Paralympic Committee will send a delegation to participate in the 13th ASEAN Para Games, to be held from January 20–26, 2025, in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
