(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) The President of the Brunei Fujian Association, Fang Yanhe, stated that today marks the association’s annual Scholarship Award Presentation Ceremony for members’ children. First of all, on behalf of the Brunei Fujian Association, I would like to extend the warmest welcome to all members, parents, and students who have taken the time out of their busy schedules to be present at this event! I also sincerely thank all the advisors and journalist friends who have long cared about and supported our work!
Fang Yanhe made these remarks this morning at the 26th Members’ Children Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony held at the association.
He said, the original intention of establishing the ‘Members’ Children Academic Excellence Award’ is not merely to recognize good results in just one exam or one school term. The deeper meaning lies in affirming a spirit of persistent and tireless learning, and in encouraging a growth mindset which is brave enough to meet challenges and achieve self-transcendence. Fellow students, every bit of progress and every outstanding achievement you attain academically is not just the result of your own efforts, but is also the culmination of your parents’ diligent nurturing and high hopes, infused with your teachers’ patient guidance and selfless dedication. This award is a form of recognition, a form of congratulations, and more importantly, a burdened expectation.
He said, students standing here today are outstanding among your peers, pilots in the sea of learning. This honor is the best commendation for your past hard work. But please remember, honor belongs to the past, and learning has no end. I hope you can turn today’s applause and encouragement into an inexhaustible driving force for your future path. On the road in pursuit of knowledge, always maintain curiosity and thirst; on the journey to explore the truth, always adhere to independent thinking and innovative spirit.
At the same time, I hope you will always cherish a heart of gratitude. Be grateful to your parents, who hold up a bright sky for you with their strong arms; be grateful to your teachers, who use wisdom and dedication to guide your way forward; be grateful for this era and society, which provide a broad stage for your growth. When you achieve success in your studies and your wings are strong, please do not forget to pass on this love and care, and use your talents and knowledge to give back to your family, contribute to society, and serve your country.
