(Kuala Lumpur, 23rd) Malaysia’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dato’ Sri Mohamad Sabu, emphasized that as conflicts in West Asia trigger a global food supply crisis, Malaysia’s close relationship with Vietnam helps to ensure the nation’s food supply remains sufficient.

Currently on a working visit to Vietnam, Mohamad Sabu stated that the purpose of this visit is to ensure that Vietnam continues to be Malaysia’s stable and reliable trading partner, supplying Malaysia with food resources including white rice and other important raw products.

Given the current global supply crisis, which directly affects food supply chains and price stability, this visit is of great significance.

“In this situation, I believe it is necessary for Malaysia to take more proactive, strategic, and forward-looking actions.”

He wrote on his Facebook page, also expressing his commitment to continuing to strengthen international cooperation, to diversify supply sources, and to always ensure national food security is protected.

“God willing, I will continue to ensure that the national food supply is stable and sufficient, and safeguard the well-being of all the people.”

Earlier, Mohamad Sabu arrived in Hanoi and was received by Malaysia’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Dato’ Chan Yong Tai.
