(Miri, 21st) In conjunction with the year-end festive season, Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is once again hosting the “2025 Jingling Christmas Market” this December, transforming Miri’s Tourist Information Center into a vibrant Christmas village filled with music, creativity, and festive cheer, offering the public a warm and lively holiday experience.
The market will be held from December 19th to 21st at the Miri Tourist Information Center garden, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
During the event, the market will feature a variety of festive programs such as handmade Christmas decoration workshops, caroling by local churches, interactive treasure hunt games, live musical performances, and Santa Claus parades distributing gifts. Together these activities will create a joyful, family-friendly festive atmosphere. The organizers will also hold a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the first night to officially mark the start of the celebration.
Admission to the market is free. There will be 30 booths set up in Miri, providing local artisans, small businesses, and creative micro-enterprises with a platform to showcase and network, help promote local creative industries, and strengthen ties with the community.
The Sarawak Tourism Board states that this event reflects their ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive and meaningful activities, and brings people closer together through festive celebrations.
Tourism Board’s Chief Executive Officer Sharzede said, “The Jingling Christmas Market is not only about decorations and songs; more importantly, it unites community spirit, provides families with a space to share the festive season, and redefines the Tourist Information Center as a hub for culture, creativity, and connection.”
She also encourages the public to bring family and friends to experience the uniquely warm Sarawak Christmas ambiance. With countless shareable festive moments throughout the market, organizers expect a large turnout, energizing social media, and adding strong festive and community warmth to the year-end.
