(Kuching, 11th) The Sarawak Ministry of Utilities and Telecommunications expresses gratitude to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari for allocating RM 1.72 billion in the 2025 Sarawak financial bill for the development of water, electricity, and telecommunications services.
Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to advancing Sarawak's utility and telecommunications services.
In a statement today, he stated that the ministry has invested RM 1.23 billion in development expenditure for water and electricity, and RM 490 million for telecommunications services to fulfill the ministry's obligation to provide comprehensive coverage for reliable, sustainable, and affordable utility and telecommunication services, especially in rural areas of Sarawak.
Julaihi also praised the 2025 state budget as a people-centric budget, highlighting the Sarawak government's commitment to the well-being of its people.
“This budget also reflects Sarawak's unwavering commitment to accelerating economic growth, stimulating private investment, creating jobs, and building a more competitive and resilient economy, ensuring that economic benefits are widely shared across Sarawak.”
He said that Sarawak's estimated revenue for 2025 is RM 14.2 billion, marking the highest in the state's budget history, surpassing RM 13.3 billion in 2024.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the RM 15.8 billion of operational and development expenditure is the largest allocation in the history of Sarawak's budget, higher than the RM 13.6 billion in 2024.
“The RM 10.9 billion development expenditure in 2025 indicates the government's strong emphasis on Sarawak's development, aiming for equitable income distribution and achieving a sustainable high-income economy.”
