China's first pilot of urban management law enforcement involving collaboration between law enforcement officers and humanoid robots has been launched in Shanghai, with robots undertaking supplementary tasks such as legal publicity, policy interpretation, and intelligent Q&A.
According to reports from CaiLian Press and SHINE News, the above-mentioned law enforcement action took place last Wednesday (May 20) in Zhangjiang AI Town, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, and was led by the Pudong Comprehensive Urban Management Law Enforcement Bureau.
During the law enforcement process, the unmanned aerial vehicle intelligent supervision system first detected a business operating in violation of regulations along the street and transmitted relevant information in real time to patrolling law enforcement officers on site as well as to the Zhiyuan Lingxi X2 robot.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers and the robot proceeded together to the scene. The officers were responsible for analyzing the situation, handling it in accordance with regulations, and carrying out legal enforcement, while the Zhiyuan Lingxi X2 delivered legal publicity to the business and provided intelligent Q&A services.
Pan Weijia, deputy squad leader of Squad Two, First Brigade, Law Enforcement Detachment, Pudong New Area Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, said that the Zhiyuan Lingxi X2 is capable of clearly explaining relevant management requirements and legal provisions, and can quickly respond to the questions raised by businesses. For frontline law enforcement personnel, this is an effective supplement to enforcement capabilities.
As for whether robot-assisted urban management law enforcement will become routine, Pan Weijia stated that they will adhere to the principles of "small steps, fast run; pilot first," and will continue to explore and steadily advance, focusing more on assessing actual operational results rather than simply pursuing numbers.
