A 21-year-old woman in Chonburi Province, Thailand, met a Chinese man at a bar in Pattaya on the night of the 4th. She was then invited to the man's residence for more drinks. Upon arrival, she found two other Chinese men inside. The three allegedly dragged her into a room and violently gang-raped her. On the 5th, she went to the police to report the incident, while the three men claimed that the woman had consensual sex with them.
According to Thailand's "Sing Sian Media," the woman had originally been dining with friends at a Pattaya bar. After her friends left to meet up with their boyfriends, another Thai woman from a nearby table, seeing her alone, invited her to join their table and introduced her to several Chinese men.
After the gathering, one of the men invited the woman back to his place to continue drinking. When she arrived, she discovered two other Chinese men there. The three men allegedly forced her into a room, beat her, and coerced her into sex. After the assault, she wept, but the men ignored her and merely threw her 1,000 baht (about 129 ringgit) as compensation. The woman then called a car to leave the residence and went directly to the police to report the incident.
The three men were arrested and stated that two of them did have sex with the woman, but claimed it was consensual and that a price had already been agreed upon in advance. Both parties are now engaged in settlement negotiations; the woman is demanding 300,000 baht (38,600 ringgit) in compensation from each of them, but no agreement has been reached. Police stated that they will continue to gather evidence and investigate the case according to the law.
