Fire Breaks Out at Spain’s Second Tallest Building, People Evacuated

A fire broke out at the Torre PwC in Madrid, the capital of Spain, on the 23rd, sending thick smoke into the sky which was visible from many parts of the city. After the incident, people inside the building were urgently evacuated.

Around 5 p.m. local time, an explosion occurred inside the Torre PwC, followed by a fire breaking out on the 25th floor of the building. Firefighters in Madrid quickly extinguished the flames and entered the building for inspection. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

According to local media reports, two workers were treated for smoke inhalation, and one passerby received treatment for an anxiety attack. All three were treated at the scene and did not need to be taken to the hospital.

The Torre PwC is the second tallest building in Spain. The PwC company, which has long rented the building, stated that the evacuation was completed in about 18 minutes and all employees are in good condition.
