(Kuching, 25th) Brunei reiterated its commitment to continuing to strengthen cooperation with Sarawak in the energy sector to ensure regional energy security.
Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei (Energy), Datuk Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Azmi, emphasized the importance of close cooperation between neighboring countries for the sustainability of the energy sector.
“As neighbors, we strive to enhance cooperation in the energy field. At this meeting, we further discussed several key issues of common concern.”
He said this in an interview with reporters after holding a bilateral meeting with Sarawak's Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, yesterday.
Datuk Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Azmi also stated that Brunei is willing to explore more cooperation opportunities with Sarawak to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
“We hope to ensure that regional energy security is guaranteed, and we will continue to collaborate with strategic partners to achieve this goal.”
This meeting took place at the invitation of the Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability of Sarawak, Datuk Hazland, and the Energy Information Centre (EIC), after attending an official event as a guest.
