Sun Wei Xuan Appointed as DAP Bawang Assan Branch Chairman

(Sibu, 31st) Dato’ Sri Sun Wei Xuan was elected as the new Chairman of the DAP Bawang Assan Branch at the triennial general meeting held two days ago, further consolidating the party’s leadership ahead of the coming state elections.
Wong Hua was elected as Vice Chairman, while the vice chairmanships are held by Bujang Ujeh, Ting Hua Sing, Song Tiong Chuan, and Hii Toh Tieng.
Hii Bee Choon was appointed as Secretary, Unjah Besh as Deputy Secretary, Tie Teck Kong as Treasurer, and Ling Nai Woo as Deputy Treasurer.
Andrew Shilling and Ling Leh Eng were appointed as Publicity Secretary and Organizing Secretary, respectively.

In the party’s divisions, Joshua Ting Fu Ying was re-elected as the Youth Chief, Law Lee Wee as Deputy Youth Chief, and Raymond Gema as one of the Deputy Youth Chiefs; the Women’s Wing continues to be led by Yong Ing Hun, assisted by the new leadership team.
These appointments complete the branch's organizational structure, with a number of committee members also included to strengthen grassroots operations.
In his speech, Sun Wei Xuan emphasized that the work of defending the Bawang Assan seat has officially started, and it requires all party members to be united and give their all.
He said that members must remain united, work hard, and strengthen their engagement with the people.
“Victory will not come by chance; only through greater effort and teamwork can achievements be made.” He pointed out that unity is the greatest strength of the party, while division will only lead to failure.

He also reminded that every member, regardless of rank, plays an important role and should reach out to the grassroots, understand public sentiment, and provide assistance in order to build voters’ trust.
Meanwhile, Sun Wei Xuan stressed the need to inform the public that DAP is a member of GPS, and pointed out that the coalition is able to safeguard Sarawak’s interests and ensure continued development.
On the other hand, Wong Hua also called on members to put aside personal interests and strengthen cooperation to win the Bawang Assan seat.
He noted that under GPS rule, Sarawak has achieved significant progress in infrastructure, economic growth, and public well-being.
He added that since Sun Wei Xuan joined the DAP, positive changes have been seen in the development of Bawang Assan, including increased public support and expanded development opportunities.
