(Miri, 31st) – Miri Central Park conducted a tsunami early warning system alarm test and routine maintenance this morning. Residents nearby are urged not to panic upon hearing the siren.
According to a notice issued by the Meteorological Department, the Malaysian Tsunami Early Warning System (SAATNM) test was carried out today from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Miri Central Park. During the test, alarm sirens were sounded, and regular maintenance of the equipment was performed simultaneously.
The relevant authorities stated that the alarm sound is solely for system testing purposes and is not an actual disaster alert, calling on the public in the vicinity to remain calm and not to take emergency actions.
