《Squid Game》has set another new record for Netflix! After the second season launched globally last Thursday, it continued the binge-watching craze of the first season, accumulating nearly 500 million hours of viewing time in its first week, making it the most-watched work on Netflix in its first week of release. It is roughly estimated to bring at least 1.5 trillion won (approximately 4.565 billion Malaysian Ringgit) in earnings.

Furthermore, Netflix Korea revealed a new clip on the 1st, and in its description, it originally stated "Please tune in on June 27th," but this was later deleted. In response, the official commented, "The release date has not been finalized yet."

According to data from Korea's K EnterTech Hub, the first season of 《Squid Game》had an investment of about 25 billion won (approximately 76.09 million Malaysian Ringgit) in production, generating earnings up to 40 times that amount, about 1 trillion won (30.43 billion Malaysian Ringgit). The production cost of the second season is approximately four times that of the first season, roughly 100 billion won (about 304 million Malaysian Ringgit). Despite mixed reviews post-launch, the audience response has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with the potential to achieve earnings more than 10 times the production cost, meaning 1.5 trillion won (around 4.565 billion Malaysian Ringgit). Further analysis suggests that the second season’s revenue could even surpass that of the first season, including diverse income sources such as attracting and retaining users, and collaborative merchandise.
