Yonhap News reported on the 12th that former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the first instance for "fabricating the Pyongyang airspace drone intrusion incident."

The Seoul Central District Court determined that Yoon Suk-yeol and others, in order to create a so-called justifiable reason for declaring martial law, instructed the Drone Operations Command to infiltrate Pyongyang in October 2024, with the aim of provoking North Korean military action, which constitutes the crime of general aiding the enemy. At the same time, the charge that Yoon Suk-yeol abused his power during the operation was also established.

On November 10, 2025, Yoon Suk-yeol and others were accused by the special prosecutor investigating the martial law incident of instructing the Drone Operations Command to dispatch drones to Pyongyang in October 2024. The special prosecutor pointed out that the drone crashed near Pyongyang, resulting in the leakage of military secrets such as operation plans and combat strength. In April this year, the special prosecutor requested a 30-year prison sentence for Yoon Suk-yeol on charges including general aiding the enemy and abuse of power.
