Tehran Mayor Zakani announced that the funeral of the late Supreme Spiritual Leader Khamenei has been postponed to a date after the tenth day of Muharram (the first month of the Islamic calendar).
Zakani stated that the funeral activities not only reflect the inheritance of the late Supreme Spiritual Leader's ideologies but also express loyalty to the current Supreme Spiritual Leader Khamenei.
According to Khamenei’s will and the recommendations of his relatives, his body will be buried at the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad. Khamenei died at the age of 86 in the US-Israeli military airstrike on February 28.
