(Kuala Belait, 19th) In conjunction with the Lunar Year of Bingwu Spring Festival, the board and staff from four Chinese schools in Kuala Belait district launched their annual Lunar New Year fundraising activity on the first day of the new year, paying New Year visits to supporters from all walks of life to spread festive blessings, while also raising funds for the development of Chinese education.

This year, the schools participating in the fundraising event include Kuala Belait Chung Hwa Middle School, Seria Chung Ching Middle School, Sungai Liang Chung Ling School, and Labi Chung Hwa School. School board and staff members formed groups to visit and express sincere thanks to longstanding supporters of Chinese education.

Among them, Kuala Belait Chung Hwa Middle School, Seria Chung Ching Middle School, and Sungai Liang Chung Ling School also sent lion dance troupes to bring New Year's greetings through traditional lion dances, according to pre-arranged schedules, to devoted supporters. The sound of drums and gongs, alongside the energetic lion dance, added to the festive atmosphere, symbolizing the thriving and enduring tradition of Chinese education.

Labi Chung Hwa School’s board and teaching staff also organized teams to visit supporters door to door, delivering New Year’s wishes and expressing gratitude for their unwavering support over the years.

The Lunar New Year fundraising event is not only a traditional practice of the Chinese community, but also an important platform for rallying community strength and supporting Chinese education. The schools hope that all sectors of society will continue to care for and support the growth of Chinese schools, enabling Chinese education to progress steadily in the new year and achieve even greater success.
