A spokesperson for the Merseyside Police in the UK stated on the 29th that a man who drove into fans in central Liverpool faces seven charges and will appear at the Liverpool Magistrates' Court on the 30th.
The Merseyside Police have formally charged the 53-year-old suspect, Doyle, under the authorization of the Crown Prosecution Service for the Mersey-Cheshire region. The charges include causing grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.
In any case, attempted murder was not listed as one of the charges.
On the 26th, a car crash into fans occurred in central Liverpool, with the offending vehicle subsequently stopped on site and a male suspect arrested. At the time of the incident, tens of thousands of fans were celebrating Liverpool's Premier League championship victory along the streets.
The crash resulted in injuries to 79 people, with 7 still receiving treatment in the hospital.
Police previously stated that there is no information suggesting the incident was premeditated, nor is it being treated as a terrorist attack.
