(Kajang, 9th) A 65-year-old local man was found collapsed on a hillside eight hours after going out and died on the way to the hospital.
Police investigations revealed that the man had recently faced financial pressure. Less than 15 minutes after receiving a report that he had been missing for nearly 8 hours, police were informed that the man had slipped on a hillside at section 3 of the mountain path in Singai Long Hill Park, Selangor.
According to Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Nazrul, police received the report of the man going out at 2:43pm on Saturday afternoon.
He cited preliminary investigations showing the man had left his home around 7am that day.
"It is understood that the deceased had recently been under pressure due to financial problems."
According to the statement, at around 3pm, members of the public discovered the man on a slope at the aforementioned location, by then he had lost consciousness. He is believed to have fallen from a height of 8 meters.
The statement noted that medical personnel were called to provide emergency treatment, but the man was confirmed dead while being sent to hospital at 3:15pm.
The body was later sent to Kajang Hospital for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Nazrul revealed that preliminary investigations had not found any criminal elements, and the case is currently classified as a sudden death while awaiting autopsy results and further investigation.
