(Kuala Lumpur, 22nd) Singer Namewee appeared in the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court again this morning for his drug possession and consumption case. Namewee remained silent upon entering the court, refusing to answer any questions from the media.

Last Thursday (18th), Namewee was unable to attend court due to sick leave. This morning, at around 9:10 am, he entered the Jalan Duta Court Complex in Kuala Lumpur, accompanied by his lawyer Chong Chee Foong and others.

Wearing his trademark blue beanie, black sunglasses, a beard, and a black long-sleeved shirt, Namewee did not say a word as he entered the court. He did not respond to two rounds of questions from reporters, only waving and nodding as a gesture.

According to the charges, Namewee was charged on October 24 this year with one count each of drug possession and drug consumption, but he denied both charges.

According to the reports, in the 1st Criminal Magistrate's Court, he was charged with possessing 5.12 grams of suspected ecstasy in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur at about 4:30 pm on October 22, in violation of Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and punishable under Section 39A(1) of the same act.

If convicted, he faces imprisonment of not less than 2 years and not more than 5 years, and not less than 3 strokes and not more than 9 strokes of the cane.

In the 3rd Magistrate’s Court, he was charged with testing positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) following a urine test at about 7:15 pm on October 22 in the restroom of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department at the Kuala Lumpur Jin Ma Police Headquarters, thereby violating Section 15(1)(a) (drug consumption) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

If convicted, he could be fined up to RM5,000 or imprisoned for up to 2 years, and required to undergo supervision for a period of 2 to 3 years.

As Namewee pleaded not guilty, both cases were separately granted bail at RM2,000 each.

Taiwanese internet celebrity Hsieh Youxin died in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on October 22 this year, and the 42-year-old Namewee was alleged to be involved in this case on November 3. It was further revealed that he had already been charged with drug possession and consumption as early as October 24.

Subsequently, on November 5, police summoned Namewee to assist with the investigation into the homicide and detained him for 6 days until November 13, after which he was released on verbal bail.
