Joe happily announced, “I’m an adult now”, while Gary Chaw commented, “Love you!” along with lots of heart emojis — dad’s love just overflows. Mom Wu Suling commented, “Happy Birthday” along with kissy face emojis. Even though the parents are divorced, their love for their child hasn’t diminished at all.
Wu Suling was once asked about her son being in love. She playfully teased him as “head-over-heels in love, super crazy in love, so much so it’s exaggerated.” She joked that after her son got a girlfriend, he “belongs to someone else”. She revealed his girlfriend is Korean, and the couple is super into special occasions: celebrate every month, celebrate anniversaries, celebrate 100 days, Valentine’s Day, Christmas—every holiday must be celebrated. She joked, “How come you two are celebrating all the time?” Once, when she told her son to go to bed, he said he had to talk to his girlfriend for over 12 hours because it was their 100-day anniversary, which made Wu Suling roll her eyes and realize, “A mom has to learn to let go.”
