Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise's iconic series 'Mission: Impossible' is about to release its 8th installment titled 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.' Recently, Cruise, along with the director and key cast members, was in Seoul, South Korea to promote the film. When asked about U.S. President Trump's recent proposal to impose a 100% tariff on films shot outside of the United States, and whether the upcoming 'Mission: Impossible 8' would be directly affected, Cruise gave a prudent response. Since Trump's plan has not been finalized, Cruise decided that making no comment would be the best response.
According to the on-site translator, a Korean female journalist asked: “I would like to ask anyone present. I watched this film and noticed it was shot in multiple global locations, including Africa. Of course, we are all aware of Trump's recent tariff measures on overseas productions and films. Does this film fall under that tariff scope, and how much of it was filmed overseas?” Cruise quietly told the host: “We hope to answer questions related to the film, thank you.” The host considered this a “reasonable response” and suggested moving on to the next question.
The 'Mission: Impossible' series has grossed over $4 billion worldwide and is renowned for its multinational locations. The latest installment was shot in the UK, Norway, and South Africa, among other locations.
