Court of Appeal Judge: PG or Government's Lack of Objection Confusing

Court of Appeal judges, during the hearing of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib's 'home detention' appeal case, expressed confusion over the Attorney General's Chambers or the government's failure to raise any objections to the additional directive.

One of the judges, Datuk Seri Firuz, expressed his perplexity that the defense did not challenge the authenticity of the alleged additional directive allowing Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence at home.

This was stated by the judge during submissions by Federal Senior Counsel Shamsul Bohasan for the defense. Shamsul was explaining why the Court of Appeal should dismiss Najib's application to include additional evidence in the appeal case.

“In the last hearing, you told the judge you needed time to confirm if this so-called draft additional directive indeed came from the Palace.”
