The Louvre Reopens Some Galleries

After a temporary closure due to a strike, France's Louvre Museum reopened some of its galleries on the 17th, including public access to certain exhibits such as the Mona Lisa.

The Louvre announced on social media that it reopened that morning, but some galleries remain temporarily closed due to the ongoing strike.

On the 15th, the Louvre closed temporarily as employees went on strike to protest worsening working conditions, declining visitor services, and insufficient resources at the museum.

A robbery took place at the Louvre on October 19, which led to a series of subsequent disturbances and raised doubts about the museum's security capabilities. In November, a gallery was closed due to building safety concerns. At the end of November, a water leak damaged hundreds of books in the museum’s Egyptian Antiquities Library.
